Turkmen Designer Unveils New Collection in Morocco
Turkmen designer Göwher Pirgulyyeva-Gouvernet unveiled her new collection at Tanger Fashion Week 2026, held in Tangier, Morocco.

The collection combines traditional Turkmen keşde embroidery, national ornaments and contemporary silhouettes. The show took place at Fairmont Tazi Palace Tangier as part of the international fashion week.
The Tangier show was not the designer’s first international appearance this year. In June, Pirkulyyeva-Gouvernet presented her collection In the Footsteps of the Silk Road at Turkmentextile Expo 2026 in Ashgabat. She said the collection was inspired by her trip to Morocco and participation in Maroc Fashion Week. Blending Turkmen motifs with Moroccan aesthetics, she also incorporated French jacquard and brocade – fabrics historically associated with the Silk Road.
Earlier, in January, the designer took part in the Oriental Fashion Show, held at the Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts (Musée Guimet) in Paris during Haute Couture Week.
According to Pirgulyyeva-Gouvernet, traveling and discovering new cultures inspire fresh ideas while helping her stay connected to Turkmen traditions. That is why her collections combine contemporary silhouettes with traditional embroidery and national ornaments.
