Kazakhstan Demonstrates Air Taxi
A demonstration flight of an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) air taxi took place in Astana.

The demonstration flight took place at the Kazanat Hippodrome, according to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport.
The demonstration featured the AutoFlight Prosperity eVTOL aircraft developed by China's AutoFlight. The event was organized by Kazakhstan's Alatau Advance Air Group Ltd. (AAAG) in partnership with the Chinese company. The aircraft is designed to carry one pilot and up to five passengers, although the demonstration flight was conducted without passengers.
Earlier, eVTOL test flights were carried out in the city of Alatau. Those flights marked Central Asia's first public demonstration of this type of aircraft and launched Kazakhstan's urban air mobility initiative.
According to the Ministry of Transport, Kazakhstan is continuing to develop the legal and infrastructure framework needed for eVTOL operations. Legislative amendments regulating eVTOL aircraft, vertiports and unmanned air traffic management systems have already been adopted.
Following the demonstration, the AutoFlight Prosperity will be showcased at the Games of the Future 2026 international phygital tournament, which will take place in Astana from July 29 to August 9.
