Golden Globes Brings Its First Official Event to Central Asia
Uzbekistan will host an official Golden Globes event for the first time. On October 23–24, the country will welcome the Golden Globes Silk Road Tribute Gala, a new international ceremony celebrating film and television from Central Asia and the Caucasus.

The announcement was made by Golden Globes, which said the new initiative aims to support emerging talent from the region and strengthen international cooperation in the film industry.
According to Golden Globes President Helen Hoehne, Central Asia and the Caucasus are home to rich cultural traditions and distinctive creative voices that deserve greater international recognition.
Organizers describe the Silk Road Tribute Gala as a new platform where filmmakers, actors, screenwriters and producers will be able to present their work to the global film community. The project is being organized in partnership with Vivid Strategies and Leto Productions.
For Central Asia, the event could mark an important step in the development of the region’s film industry.
In recent years, films from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and other countries across the region have increasingly gained recognition at major international film festivals.
The decision to bring an official Golden Globes event to Uzbekistan is another sign of growing international interest in Central Asia. The region has increasingly become a venue for global forums, exhibitions, sporting events and cultural initiatives. Now, one of the world's most recognizable names in the film industry is joining that list.
For young filmmakers and producers, the event also offers an opportunity to reach new audiences. International platforms like this can help creators build professional networks, attract investment and bring their projects to international markets.
