Ashgabat to Host International Children’s Chess Tournament
The first international Kids Expo–Chess Cup will take place in Ashgabat on August 19–20. Young chess players from more than 15 countries are expected to take part in the tournament.
Participants will include young chess players from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Iran. The competition will be held in three age categories: under 8, under 10 and under 12.
In addition to the games, participants will have the opportunity to attend masterclasses and other chess-related activities. Well-known chess players and champions will also travel to Ashgabat to meet with the young participants.
The tournament will be held as part of the KIDS EXPO: Everything for Children exhibition.
