The XX Youth Delphic Games of the CIS are taking place in Dushanbe, bringing together around 500 participants from nine countries.

Young representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus and Russia, are taking part in the Games.

Participants aged 10 to 25 are competing and performing across 10 disciplines.

The competition programme includes:

  1. piano;
  2. violin;
  3. visual arts;
  4. classical singing;
  5. solo folk singing;
  6. pop singing;
  7. folk dance.

Three more disciplines are part of the festival programme:

  1. folk instruments;
  2. wind instruments;
  3. arts and crafts.

Events are being held at venues across Dushanbe, including the conservatory, arts schools, a specialised music boarding school, cultural and arts institutes, and the Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The programme goes beyond the competition. Dushanbe is also hosting discussions on the development of the creative industries and event tourism. Another key topic is artificial intelligence and its impact on the arts.

This is the second time Dushanbe has hosted the Delphic Games. The city previously welcomed participants from across the CIS in 2022.

This year’s Games will run until October 9.
